Odisha Boy Addresses "United Nations Youth Assembly"



All the people of Odisha feel proud on Laxman Hembram, a tribal student from Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) after participating in the Malala Day United Nations Youth Assembly at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The Malala Day United Nations Youth Assembly is a prestigious international event which was held on 12 July 2013 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. More than 120 youth leaders from many countries participated in the event as declared by Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS).
Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) is a world famous educational environment founded by Achyut Samanta where more than 10,000 tribal students study for free with hostel and other facilities for free.
Laxman Hembram represented India before all the other countries and spoke about “Education for All” which comprises of the Quality Education and Youth Union at the Malala Day United Nations Youth Assembly.
Laxman also gave a glance at how to exterminate poverty through education and built a society free of poverty and non literacy.
As per the release by KISS Laxman Hembram had an opportunity to learn about different education systems during the visit to Malala Day United Nations Youth Assembly.
Laxman Hembram also mentioned how he got a chance to talk with other representatives from different countries specially Malala Yousafzai from Pakistan which gave him an opportunity to learn and discuss about the current education systems in different countries.
Laxman’s four day visit also gave him a chance to visit many places in New York and grab as much as knowledge he can from the people around him.
Laxman Hembram’s participation in the Malala Day United Nations Youth Assembly is a matter of pride for not only Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) but also for all the people of Odisha and the tribal community, said Achyut Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS.
